Marble Balance Race

Enter 2 to 30 names for Sky Carnival. Three passive pivoting seesaw bridges tip under marble weight, with no motors. Only actual downward crossings of the finish count: the first finisher wins, and a completed race shows the complete finish order, with no forced winner. After 90 seconds, an optional return-to-setup button appears. You can keep watching; returning leaves unfinished racers unranked.

Fixed labels above each marble can overlap. Custom names and optional head images are stored locally in this browser. Shared clips are video-only and can reveal those names and images. This is entertainment, not a certified equal-probability draw.

Game guide

Candidates: 2–30

Enter 2 to 30 distinct candidate names, one per line, with at most 40 characters per name. Blank lines and repeated names, ignoring letter case, do not add racers. Check the list before starting. In the Sky Carnival course, three passive seesaw bridges tilt under the marbles' weight. There are no motors, timed gates or lifts: the racers themselves change the balance as they roll and collide.

Why do marbles sometimes wait on a bridge? Several marbles can gather near a pivot before their combined weight tips the bridge. A pause is not a scheduled gate opening, and an early lead can disappear when the pack moves. Who wins? The first marble to actually cross the finish wins. The winner is not preselected or forced; the complete ranking follows actual finish crossings, not height or distance along an upper bridge.

What happens after 90 seconds? An optional return-to-setup control becomes available. You can keep watching or return to setup and start another round. The timer never forces a finish or assigns places to unfinished marbles. An incomplete race is not a complete ranking. Agree on a restart rule with the group before starting, rather than deciding only after seeing who is ahead.

How do I read a crowded race or replay it? Name labels stay at fixed offsets above their marbles and may overlap when racers bunch up. Wait for every marble to cross, then use the results list to confirm the full order. Race again starts a new race, not playback of the previous result. Edit the names before a new round if needed; candidate changes made during a race apply to the next race.

Are pictures required, and what does recording save? Names alone are enough. Optional custom head images are stored locally in this browser. Recording, where supported, produces a video-only clip with the marbleracegame.com watermark and no audio. Review the visible names and images before sharing, and use only pictures participants agree to share.

Does balancing guarantee equal chances? No. Starting positions, collisions and the changing load on each bridge affect the run. This is an entertainment simulation, not a certified equal-probability draw or an audited selection. Decide in advance whether the group will use just the winner or the whole finish order. Fewer candidates can make the bridge motion easier to follow on a small screen.
